Secret brunch
One of our favourite venues in Dubai is launching a new brunch concept to help us make it through the miserable month of January. Starting from the 11th, the botanically-inspired terrace will be hosting a so-called Secret Brunch every Friday, 1pm-5pm. Expect a mix of irresistibly good sharing dishes, from arancini balls to delicious flatbreads alongside an impressive menu of mixed beverages. Of course there will be live music to keep the crowd upbeat, all starting from AED299 per person. Count us in.

La Strega

There’s a new pizzeria in town serving up authentic Italian dishes. A ‘trattoria’ eatery, La Strega embodies a warm, laid-back approach to dining. The menu includes everything from your classic margherita to buffalo mozzarella, black truffle paste, artichoke, and eggs mimosa covered crust pizzas, and pasta in all shapes, sizes and sauces. Delicious stuff.

The Duck Hook

Sometimes, you can’t beat good ol’ bar grub. Taking culinary inspiration from UK countryside classics and modern European fare, expect delights such as duck scotch egg, chicken tikka bites, battered fish ‘n’ chips and desserts such as Eton mess and sticky toffee pudding. The gastropub gets extra points for the quirky portraits of regal looking ducks hanging from the walls.
