There's tons of food to be eaten this week. No, really. Eggspectation has a great food challenge to try. There's a new Lebanese Friday lunch menu at Khaymat Al Bahar and one of our favourite Indian restaurants, Peppermill has just opened a new branch at The Dubai Mall.

Pancake challenge

Pancake challenge at Eggspectation

There’s a sweet (and savoury) challenge taking place at Eggspectation this July. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Canadian restaurant is challenging guests to take on its 25-stack – one for each year they’ve been going, obviously – of pancakes. Take the tower down in 25 minutes or less and you’ll get a voucher for a discount on your next meal. If you fail, then you hand over AED98. To make it slightly easier, you can take three friends with you to help out. Just be sure to go hungry.

Hip Hop Karaoke

Dubai bars - Tribeca

Palms a bit sweaty? Knees weak? And what’s that on your sweater? It’s time to showcase that lyrical flow you’ve been practicing in front of the mirror all these years at Tribeca’s resurrected Hip Hop Karaoke. It all goes down from 11pm, following the all you can eat and drink madness of Limitless Thursdays (AED249).

The popular upmarket Lebanese restaurant with snap worthy beach views has launched a new Friday lunch menu. Not only can you enjoy the delights from the live cooking stations, but you can also take in the Lebanese music and live entertainment. It’s AED237 and runs 1pm to 4pm.

Atelier M

Bridgewater Tavern

Dubai licensed restaurants - Bridgewater Tavern

Located inside the JW Marriott Marquis hotel, this lively sports bar is illuminated by wall-spanning TV screens showing NBA, football, rugby and tennis. Wood is fused with iron across the venue – from tables and chairs to ceilings and wall fittings – to give it the all-important industrial vibe. Bar stools pepper the outside of its central island as more sports screens loom down to the craned-necked clientele below. And, while it may be a sports bar, the food is five star. Expect to find everything from moreish boneless chicken wings to the venue’s signature black burger – a black brioche bun served with a perfectly seasoned slab of beef that literally melts on the tongue, to equally delightful Nutella donuts.

Peppermill

Dubai Indian restaurants - Peppermill

If you’re a fan of Indian food, head to the Peppermill’s newly opened store in The Dubai Mall where moreish treats like duck uttapam, Andhra chicken curry or cod fish biryani await you. Our advice is to bring friends and wear loose clothing because you’re going to be eating a lot.
