Emirates to suspend all flights to Bali
Emirates, the city’s beloved airline, has just announced that it will be suspending all of its flights to Denpasar, Bali until further notice.
The news comes just hours after the Mount Agung volcano erupted, leaving authorities to evacuate over 100,000 people and shut down the city’s main airport.
For all those travelling to Denpasar today, it is important to note that Emirates has cancelled two of its flights to the area and is offering all transit passengers currently in Dubai alternative options.
"Transit passengers bound for Bali/Denpasar who are currently in Dubai International Airport will be given the option to travel to the nearest destination CGK/Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, or to their original point of departure if they so choose," Emirates said.
If you’re travelling on Flight EK398, you may be in luck as it looks like the flight has been delayed and not cancelled.
“Flight EK398 from Dubai to Bali/Denpasar (DPS) on 27 November is delayed by approximately 9 hours and is tentatively planned to depart from Dubai at 0600 PM Dubai time.
“These dates and times are provisional and subject to the operational status of Bali/Denpasar International Airport (DPS). Passengers are requested to check the website www.emirates.com for the latest flight timings,” the airline added. We will, of course, keep you posted should this change.
