There’s no need to bring your umbrella to Sharjah’s latest must-see exhibit.

Located in Al Majarah, the Rain Room is a dark underground space where a constant stream of water falls from the ceiling to replicate, erm,  rainfall. Over 1,200 litres of the wet stuff is used to create the spectacular sight that creates an otherworldly setting. And there’s a twist. Guests can step in and navigate the area without being drenched as the pressure sensors in the floor tiles makes the downpour stop right above where you stand. Clever, eh?

Although the concept launched at The Barbican, London and passed through Shanghai, New York and Los Angeles, it will now be permanently housed in the UAE. Nice.

If you'd like to give it go, tickets start at AED25 for adults. It's AED15 for students under the age of 22, university ID is required and it's free for people of determination and kids under the age of five.
