We’re not going to lie, we were a bit sad when we found out that the Burj Khalifa was trading in its famed firework show for a light show. But, after watching the latest video for “Light Up 2018”, we’re pretty excited to see what the world’s tallest building has up its sleeve.

If you’d rather ring in the New Year with fireworks, here’s a list of three places that will be putting on a magical show…

Burj Al Arab
The most iconic location in Dubai is laying on an incredible evening, beginning with a reception on the terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf before you dine in one of the hotel’s signature restaurants: Bab Al Yam, Al Iwan, Nathan Outlaw at Al Mahara, Al Muntaha or Scape. Then, from midnight, everyone gathers on the terrace again to count down to New Year’s Eve before a party kicks off the New Year.

Atlantis the Palm
Atlantis the Palm will be hosting a gala dinner on the beach that will provide a prime position for the fireworks overlooking the imposing hotel at the crown of The Palm’s outer crescent. The evening begins with canapes and beverages in Asateer before diners wander down to the shoreline at 8pm for an expansive buffer. There’s live music from a 30-piece band and an open bar until 3am.

Atlantis, The Palm

Qasr Al Sultan
You can look forward to seeing a number of traditional Arabic dances (Tanoura and Dabka) as well as hearing as some of the nation’s most loved Arabic songs sung by the venue’s in-house band. There will be fireworks and great food on offer too – see, they really have thought of everything. The New Year’s Eve offer is priced at AED600 (inclusive of food, water and selected fresh juices) and AED950 (inclusive of food and house beverages).
When: December 25 (1pm - 5pm) and December 31 (from 7pm onwards)
Price: AED600 per adult inclusive of water and selected fresh juices, AED950 per adult inclusive of selected house beverages, Children aged between 5 and 12 receive a 50 percent discount on dining while kids under the age of five eat for free.
