Dubai Frame

We’ve been waiting for the Dubai Frame to open for a while now and, judging by the looks this video released by the Dubai Municipality, the gold-cladded project is finally finished.

The 53 second long video, which was posted on the Dubai Municipality’s official Facebook page, not only gives us insight into the development’s many features, it also gives us a sneak peak of the impressive view.

If you’re new to Dubai or haven’t heard of the project yet (how is that even possible), here’s what you need to know.

  • The Dubai Frame was designed by Fernando Donis and his office DONIS and was inspired by the Expo 2020 logo.
  • The frame is a staggering 150 metres high and 93 metres wide, and is located in Zabeel Park.
  • The top of the frame features a clear glass walkway, which will offer guests an impressive 360 view of the city.
  • The Dubai Frame will showcase both old and new Dubai. “It shows from one side the landmarks and building of Sheikh Zayed Road to symbolize the modern Dubai, while showing from the other side landmarks for Deira, Umm Hurair and Karama areas to symbolize the old Dubai,” a previous Instagram post from Dubai Municipality explains.
  • The project will also feature a gallery and museum both of which, will be located on the ground floor and will aim to highlight the evolution of the city using both video and still imagery – this can be seen in the video above.
  • Once the project opens, its tickets will be paperless.
  • The entry fee will be AED50 for adults and AED30 for kids.

We can't wait for this project to open in January
