You are no longer allowed to have barbecues or camp at Al Qudra Lake
Campers and outdoor enthusiasts, listen up! The Dubai Municipality has announced that you will no longer be allowed to have barbecues or camp at the city’s famed outdoor spot, Al Qudra Lake.
Those caught doing so will face a AED500 fine. Repeated offenders will face a fine of AED1,000.
The new rules were implemented earlier this month with officials installing over 35 signs informing visitors of the changes.
If you’d still like to have an outdoor barbecue, you can do so at a few spots across the city. Here’s a list of our three favourites…
Al Mamzar Beach Park
While it may be a bit of drive for those living in the Dubai Marina or Downtown Dubai, the family-friendly beach park has a number of permanent bbq areas. It works on a first come, first serve basis, so we suggest that you get there early to secure your spot.
Entrance fee: AED30 per car or AED5 per person
A fan favourite for obvious reasons. Firstly, the entrance fee is just AED3 and secondly, the park has some pretty great features. Aside from designated grilling stations, there are kids train rides for just AED2, great views of the Burj Khalifa and a number of fun activities for the little ones.
Entrance fee: AED3
This spot is perfect for those who want to be close (close-ish) to the water. The entry fee is just AED5 and aside from great views of the city, the park also boasts a cactus garden and a cable car service – nice.
Entrance fee: AED5
