‘Brits abroad’ like their home comforts. And Azizi Developments are taking those home comforts to a new level.

The UAE-based company has announced a new AED25 billion ($6.8 billion) mega project with 30,000 residences in Dubai. According to reports it will have a British feel, with aspects of British culture in the development.

Mirwais Azizi, Azizi Group chairman, said: “The new project announcement comes as part of Azizi Developments’ commitment toward developing a city which has given us many opportunities, including secure investments and business environment, as well as excellent standard of living and education, and a world-class healthcare system.”

The project will be huge, occupying a space in central Dubai over an area of 33 million square feet, with 105 mid-rise and high-rise buildings with 30,000 apartments. There will also be retail outlets, schools, restaurants, outdoor spaces, and a shopping area.

Construction of this new project, which is yet to be named, is set to start in November, with completion expected before Expo 2020.

This news comes after Dubai was named one of the most powerful cities in the world based on its “comprehensive power to attract creative people and business enterprises from around the world.” According to the Global Power City Index 2017, Dubai ranks 23rd in the world and first place in the Middle East.

Dubai scored highly for its number of foreign residents and visitors from abroad.

There’s no doubt that projects like Azizi’s latest ‘British’ development will help the city continue to climb the ranks.

On the GPC Index London is currently ranked at number one, followed by New York, Tokyo, Paris and Singapore.
